Joe Biden becomes great-grandfather and leaves White House to Donald Trump
Dear readers,
As Fazal Abbas, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the recent developments in American politics. Joe Biden, at the age of 80, has become a great-grandfather for the first time. This joyous occasion coincides with his decision to step down from the presidency, paving the way for Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
Key facts:
• Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on September 15, 2024.
• Biden announced his resignation, citing personal reasons and a desire to focus on family.
• Donald Trump, having secured the Republican nomination, will assume the presidency as per the 25th Amendment.
This unprecedented turn of events marks a significant shift in American politics. As we witness this transition, it is crucial to remain informed and engaged in the democratic process. I encourage all citizens to stay updated on policy changes and continue to participate in civic duties.

A bittersweet day for the family of the last president of the United States of America. While the granddaughter Naomi showed her beautiful baby bump for the first time via social, the happy future great-grandfather Joe Biden learned the blackest news: Donald Trump won the election, at the expense of his protégé and “heir” Kamala Harris.
Naomi Biden is pregnant
While it is true that American Democrats have little to celebrate, it is a different story in the Biden household. Naomi Biden, the favorite niece of former President Joe Biden, shared her first baby bump shot on Instagram, choosing a day that was not at all random. The young woman snapped a selfie just after going to the polls to vote in the new presidential election finally won by Donald Trump and not as her grandfather hoped by his “heir” Kamala Harris.
“(We) voted,” he had written to accompany the photo. Still a joy for Grandpa Joe and Grandma Jill Biden who, to the bitter electoral defeat, soon substituted a great family victory.
Naomi is pregnant with her first child, the fruit of her love with Peter George Heermann Neal, to whom she officially got engaged in 2021 and later married in November 2022, in a beautiful (and strictly intimate) ceremony on the White House lawn. Incidentally, hers was a historic wedding: not only the first celebrated in the location reserved for U.S. leaders in at least a decade, but also the first ever to feature the granddaughter of a sitting president.
The special relationship between Joe Biden and granddaughter Naomi
It seems obvious to speak of a special relationship when it comes to a grandfather and his granddaughter, but for Joe Biden, sweet Naomi truly represents a important part of his own life. And vice versa, of course.
The name that her father Hunter chose for her is not accidental. At her birth, in fact, he decided to name her after his late sister, the daughter Joe Biden lost when she was just 13 months old with his first wife Neilia, who died in a car accident in 1972. The former U.S. president admitted in an interview that he contemplated suicide after that terrible tragedy.
Fortunately, he has retraced his steps, despite the pain, and his second life has been filled with great affection and love, especially from his grandchildren. Some time ago Naomi told in an interview how important grandfather’s presence is for all of them in the third generation, a kind of glue that has always held them together, ever since they were children.
“We grew up together. He made sure that every single tradition, every holiday, we were all together … I don’t think there was a decision, no matter how big or small, that we didn’t decide as a family,” he said. Grandpa Joe has always been there, despite his busy schedule, for every single special occasion involving Naomi or the other grandchildren, from graduations to weddings and anniversaries.
