Julien Stoermer Coleman is a visual artist and filmmaker based in the Bay Area of Northern California. He received his BFA from San Francisco Art Institute (1999), where he studied under artists Brian Barbosa, James Romberger and Steve Reinke. He currently serves as Program Director of SFAI’s Media Arts Department.
Coleman’s work has been shown at numerous galleries and museums, including SFMOMA, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Modern Art and The New Museum. He has won awards from the San Francisco Arts Commission (2000), Creative Capital Foundation (2004) and California College of the Arts (2008).
